Believe it or not, updating a website with tidbits of info isn’t
always the easiest to do. In fact, we are down right terrible
at it. But what matters at the moment is that we have an
update for you…
SCISSORFIGHT SHOWS
Scissorfight is
on tour in the UK and Europe at this very moment with their UK
brethren in Dukes of Nothing. Scissorfight’s new cdep “Potential
New Agent For Unconventional Warfare” will be in

5ive’s Continuum Research Project is the
official name for the band formerly known simply as 5ive. As
a precautionary move, the band made the change so as not to cause
any sort of confusion with the British pop band of the same moniker. We
understand that confusing the two groups seems outright foolish,
but we best be safe rather than sorry, eh? 5ive’s dynamic
new CDEP comes to store nationwide on November 26th. “The
Hemophiliac Dream” consists of one new, quite lengthy
and thoroughly satisfying, track and a bonus James Plotkin
remix. The band is scheduled to hit the UK in early December as
part of a Rock Sound sponsored tour with Hydra Head
recording artists Knut. In other 5ive related
news, Ben Carr, the guitarist figure of the group, has begun his
own subsidiary through Tortuga Recordings. Odd Halo Recordings’
debut release, Theory of Abstract Light, was written
and recorded by Ben over the last year and stands as his label’s
first foray into the world of releasing records. TOAL is for
the experimentally minded individuals of the experimentally inclined
population.
Quitter has been holed up for the last month while
recording the bands debut full-length release. Quitter doesn’t
let the nectar leak until its ripe, so we don’t even have
a clue what they’ve been working on. Every strip club
in New England has been asking for it so they must be doing something
right. The band has recently parted ways with bassist Bob Maloney. Jon
Lammi, the bands engineer for the full-length recording, has recently
filled the spot.
Old Man Gloom kept teasing and teasing that they
were going to record their new album, “Christmas”,
but then they only sort of half did it. Turner, Newton and Montano
locked themselves in a studio in MA with some guy named Ballou and
proceeded to bust out 50% of the single most influential OMG gift
since, well, the last OMG release. OMG III has recently been released
on LP in Europe through Trust No One, OMG II and
III will be release on CD in Japan at some point in the future through
Ritual Records and talks are progressing for LP
versions to arrive in the states through before long.
In other news, our operations have made their way to California. In
cahoots with the Hydra Head camp, we’ve set up our first satellite
office in the smoggy yet consistently warm environs of Los Angeles.
Being LA’s best Boston rock label is actually
quite easy since, well, we are.
