SCISSORFIGHT
Scissorfight's new full length, "Mantrapping for Sport and Profit" arrives in stores nationwide on Tuesday, October 16th. The record was recorded this past June with Andrew Schneider (Placer, Barbaro) and Craig Riggs (Roadsaw, Quitter) at New Alliance and Fort Apache studios in Boston. The Boston CD release party on Friday October 12th will feature sets from the briefly reunited Roadsaw, New Hampshire's Suicide Contest and one more band. It all happens at the Middle East Downstairs.
5IVE
5ive's 2nd full length, "the Telestic Disfracture" is in stores now along with the CD version of their debut LP. Elaborate packaging and thunderous riffing is what they know . . . 5ive stepped beyond their self imposed boundaries this time around and brought some guest folks into the fold. Jonah Milligram dropped some vocals and Mike Warhorse dropped some riffs. Tentative plans call for 5ive entering the studio in March '02.
OLD MAN GLOOM
It seems that the public and the press have both found some big love for the apes of Old Man Gloom. OMG just finished their 3rd Japanese jaunt and are scheduled to hit the US under several simian pseudonyms this fall. Or maybe they won't. Deluxe 2xLP gatefold versions of Seminar's II and III will see the light of day this fall from Trust No One. We'll have some available through mailorder and the site so keep your eyes peeled in a month or so.
MILLIGRAM
Milligram has postponed the recording of their new full length. There are no set plans as to when those sessions will commence. We've been fortunate to hear a bunch of the new tracks live and goddamn did it make us happy. Heads are gonna turn. The euro version of "Hello Motherfucker!" plus the majority of the "Black and White Rainbow" CDEP will see the light of day in November/December courtesy of our French friends at Overcome Records. Following the release of the record, Milligram is scheduled for their first ever European jaunt. Dates will follow as we have them.
QUITTER
In the Tortuga's ongoing tradition of picking up the cream of the Boston Rock crop, we proudly present Quitter. The antidote to the so-called "stoner rock" phenomenon, Quitter are bringing it all back home, with a Marlboro in one hand and a rolled-up C-note in the other. We'll be the first to admit that we are suckers for catchy shit. Quitter is catchy shit. And goddamn rock shit. Well, actually, we only decided to work with them cause the ladies are all over them. One thing we like more than drugs and rock is ladies. 3/4 of Quitter did their dues in the now legendary rock outfit Roadsaw and the other 1/4 did time with our boys Milligram. Arena rock for the new millennium. Their debut EP arrives nationwide in January.
SCISSORFIGHT II
Scissorfight's European release, "American Cloven Hoof Blues" was just released through our brethren at Eccentric Man Records in the UK. "ACHB" features 6 new tracks not on "Mantrapping for Sport and Profit" plus 5 newly recorded versions of song originally found on their debut "Guaranteed Kill". A limited number of copies will be available through mailorder and the website. Expect to see an EP of the new tracks plus one bonus track to arrive on our shores in the late spring . . .
